Very Cool Job Search Strategy

Very Cool Job Search Strategy I came across this write-up by William Henderson, who graduated from Berkley in 95. William spent several years as a project manager for a leading consulting firm and put together a serious action plan for his job search which lasted 9 weeks (3 weeks shorter than what he thought was the average). William put together an excellent formula and, with persistence, was able to get the job done. What did he do? In a nutshell his plan was: Develop a 12 week project plan, Organize a job search committee, Attend at least 5 networking events each week, Focused search (in his case, to seven potential employer organizations that he needed to network his way into) Develop relationships with several recommended executive recruiters, Sent thank-you notes and follow-up announcements to his network. You really have to read his article it is a nice 8-minute read. What is your plan? If you are serious, and dont have a plan yet, I recommend you *borrow* his! Very cool William! UCF Resume Writing Center - Four Questions to Ask Yourself in Your Preparation

UCF Resume Writing Center - Four Questions to Ask Yourself in Your PreparationTo help you with your UCF resume writing, I will be discussing four important questions to ask yourself in your preparation. With this information, you should be ready to write a great application that will stand out from the crowd. Consider this article as a primer to help you get started. It is important to understand that there are various levels of professional writing to consider. For the sake of ease, we are going to stick with easy ones. There are professional reporters, college professors, TV writers, and even housewives who use their skills to help with resume writing. It really is that simple. The first and most important question to ask yourself is, 'What kind of person am I?' - This question should never be answered with anything other than a straightforward yes or no. While there are different ways to answer this question, the important thing to remember is that a good or bad person will produce a good or bad resume. If your answer is no, you will need to tweak your material a bit before it is sent out. If you answer positively, you are ready to go!The second question you should ask yourself is, 'Do I have an idea of what I want to say?' This is the next question that will determine how well you will write your UCF resume. You should not take on too much information and should also make sure that you only include what you think is important. The third question to ask yourself is, 'What does my organization do?' What does your organization do? Answer this question with honesty because it will affect the way you write the resume.Fourth, you should ask yourself how much time do you have? If you do not have a lot of time, then you might need to choose between a formal resume and a traditional resume. If you have enough time, you can always use both approaches.Lastly, the final question to ask yourself is, 'What has been the result of my past academic experiences?' It goes withou t saying that if you don't have any academic experience at all, then this will not be a good fit for your resume. These four questions should help you in writing your UCF resume. However, I must stress that these are merely the minimum requirements for writing a successful resume. In actuality, you should spend some time in reading other resumes and finding out which of the options seems most fitting to you.

How to Find an Apartment that Fits Your Needs and Wants Perfectly

How to Find an Apartment that Fits Your Needs and Wants Perfectly Hunting for an apartment can be a rather overwhelming process that can often take a lot longer than you hoped it would. Whether there is a plethora of options available to you or just a handful, it can be difficult to narrow down your list and figure out which place truly fits all your needs and wants best. While there is certainly a bit of an emotional response involved in picking a place, ideally the selection process should be based on a number of determining factors. So, let’s take a closer look at ways you can find an apartment thats perfect for you as smoothly and quickly as possible. Location Should Always be a Top Priority When it comes to the number one most important factor in picking that perfect apartment, location should be at the top of the list. This is one thing that you won’t be able to change once you move in, so you need to be sure that the location works for you and your lifestyle. For many people, the perfect location is one that is close to their place of work in order to make that daily commute more tolerable and cost-effective. Do You Need a Parking Spot? Another factor to consider is whether or not you need a parking spot. Some apartments will include their own spot, others will charge a premium fee for that spot (either up front or on a monthly basis), and others don’t provide parking at all, so it will be up to you to find a nearby solution, whether that be street parking (if permitted), a public parking lot, etc. Typically, the bigger the city, the harder parking spots are to come by, so this factor is definitely something to be aware of. Are There Common Facilities Available to Tenants? Many apartments also have a collection of common facilities or amenities that residents can use. This may be a rooftop lounge area, a pool, a gym, laundry facilities (if not offered in your unit), or even a party room. Now, obviously not all of those amenities will matter to you, and they will affect the price of the unit. The more amenities a building offers, the higher the rental cost tends to be. With that said, it’s a good idea to make a list and prioritize it. What About Security Features? Because you can never be too thorough when it comes to your personal security and safety, it’s also wise to look into the security features of the building. Take for example the luxury apartments for rent in Union NJ called Summit Court, which offer features such as keyless entry so you don’t need to keep track of a key and worry about it falling into the wrong hands. The Amount of Space Finally, there is the question of space. Obviously, you need enough room to be able to live comfortably, whether that means multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, a spacious living area, an eat-in kitchen, and so forth. Again, it’s about making a list and prioritizing what matters most to you. Finding an apartment doesn’t have to be a long, drawn-out process as long as you are clear on your wants and needs from the get-go.

Sell Your Agenda For Community Buy-In And Increased Results - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career

Sell Your Agenda For Community Buy-In And Increased Results - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career Have you ever had the ear of a high level executive in a big company for conducting business yet one employee became your worst nightmare? “Mary” relayed this very story, to which I replied, “Wow, the possibility and the aggravation!” Diplomacy during these times is critical and requires a good deal of thought beforehand. A similarly stressful situation with new clients may one day face you whereby you will need to sell your agenda. The following steps for diplomatically selling your agenda are meant to also help develop your leadership capacity with the client company. The primary goal is to develop a plan of action with everyone in agreement and having landed on the same page. This will work to diminish future frustrations and encourage everyone treating you as a welcomed guest. 1. As soon as possible establish a meeting with everyone involved.   Label it as a meeting of the minds to make 2012 the most successful year yet for all concerned. State you are developing an agenda for the meeting to include topics of concern and that you will appreciate everyone’s input. Provide a target date for receiving input. Prioritize the agenda as you deem appropriate and include the team contributions under the appropriate topics. Give yourself the title of moderator to lead the meeting. 2. Begin your agenda by stating a few positive points and express appreciation for all.  Where areas of dissatisfaction are concerned, refer to them as areas for improvement. After each point, ask, Does this sound reasonable and doable? The question, in sales speak, is referred to as a buy-in question posed with the expectation of receiving a mini-agreement in return. You need to get 3-5 agreements to get to a sale or the favor(s) you are requesting.  Carefully sprinkle these questions throughout the meeting. 3.  Conclude the meeting by verbally recapping the mini agreements you received and other high points of the meeting. Type up the recap of the meeting and send via computer to everyone who participated in addition to others who need to know the end result. As a result, taking this pro-active stance to outline expectations of all parties and adhering to an agenda will bring about increased respect from your client company. 4.  Paperwork is essential for agreements. The expectations and finer points on how you service your clients, delivery, transition, collaboration or just the sharing of payments received should all be documented. In the case of legal documents you might consider the services of legalzoom.com or PrePaidLegal as possible options or in more complicated instances, investigate attorney services as you believe are required. 5. Always follow-up. Successful salespeople and entrepreneurs do one thing differently from everyone else; no matter what, they follow-up. After delivery of the confirmed agreements, check in with each person from time to time to see if everything is working to their satisfaction. Upon checking in, ask for their further suggestions for improvement. 6. Establish continued quarterly or six-month reviews. Each successive meeting bring in the previous year of documentation to compare where you were and where you are that day. Note the progress and together work on strides you may make for further improvement. Your personal brand will thereafter include the title of “Strong Leader”. From this point forward business will be more orderly and appear as if it were always a Smooth Sale! Your Executive Resume Is Your Calling Card

Your Executive Resume Is Your Calling Card When you are distributing resumes your ultimate goal is to get the job. A job as a high power executive. In order to get a job you need to get an interview and in order to get an interview your potential employers need to be able to contact you. This is where your executive resume comes in. Your resume needs to have your name, address, email, and phone number at the very top of your resume in the heading. These will be the main forms of communication that an employer will use to contact you. If these are not clear on your   resume then you may have lost the job already. Some people leave it off for confidentiality reasons, but I think that could be a mistake. To some recruiters or hiring managers, it seems suspicious. In this day there are some additional ways that an employer can contact you and judge you as an appropriate candidate for the position. LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter are popular ways for employers to check up on there potential employees. In order to ensure they are really checking up on you and not someone with the same name you should put your profile names in a separate section on your executive resume. If you have a personal website, then put the URL on your resume as well. Make sure your online profiles are cleaned up and professional. Even top executives get turned down due to less than appropriate profile pics or posts. Your executive resume is all your potential employers have and you need to ensure that they are able to get a hold of you. Your executive resume is your calling card and if you do not have the correct information present, then you will lose the job opportunity and you wont reach that ultimate goal you have been striving for: getting a job that is worthwhile.
